20  Linear Connector

Use this guide for a workspace Linear connector. Nous indexes issues, projects, teams, and supported comments that the authorized Linear user can read.

20.1 What is indexed or searched live

The connector indexes the Linear workspace data visible to the connecting account. It does not expand access beyond that account’s Linear membership.

20.2 Administrator role and authentication

Sophea manages the Linear OAuth app. A Linear workspace administrator should approve the connection and confirm that the authorizing user belongs to the teams and projects to be indexed.

The OAuth request uses the read scope. You do not create or paste a Linear client secret for the standard customer path.

20.3 Provider setup and permissions

Choose an account with the smallest Linear access that meets the requirement. Confirm that it can read the target teams and projects before authorizing.

20.4 Setup form fields

The current Portal form has these fields:

  • Name: a unique workspace connector name.
  • Who has access: choose Everyone in the workspace or Specific Teams.

There are no additional Linear source-scope fields in the current form. The provider grant defines the readable workspace content.

20.5 Workspace and Team access

Use Specific Teams to limit who can search Linear content in Nous. Portal manages Team membership. A Team share cannot grant access to a Linear issue that the OAuth account cannot read.

20.6 Test the connection

  1. Save the connector and wait for source sync and search indexing.
  2. Check for a known issue from each intended team.
  3. Search for an issue identifier and a phrase from its description.
  4. Test the result as an intended Workspace or Team member.

20.7 Common errors

Error Action
Linear approval is blocked Ask a Linear workspace administrator to approve the managed OAuth app.
A team is missing Confirm the authorizing user’s team membership and reconnect.
Search is empty Check the connector state and that the account can open the issue in Linear.
The wrong workspace is linked Disconnect and reconnect with a user from the intended Linear workspace.

20.8 Reconnect, rotate, and remove

Use Reconnect after changing Linear membership or when the grant expires. Sophea manages the OAuth app rotation. Before removal, check document sets, agents, and Team shares.
