13 Notion Connector
Use this guide for a Notion workspace connector. Nous indexes the pages that the authorized Notion connection can access.
13.1 What is indexed or searched live
Notion pages and child pages shared with the connection are indexed. Databases and page content are included only when the connection can access them. A page selected during the Notion authorization flow limits what Nous can discover.
13.2 Administrator role and authentication
Sophea manages the Notion public OAuth connection. A Notion workspace owner or administrator should approve the connection and share the required top-level pages with it. You do not paste a Notion integration token for the standard customer path.
The current OAuth flow does not request a separate scope string. Notion shows the pages granted during authorization.
13.3 Provider setup and permissions
Before you connect, identify the top-level pages and databases the workspace needs. In the Notion authorization picker, select those pages. Keep the grant limited to the required content. If a child page is needed, share it through an authorized parent or select it explicitly.
13.4 Setup form fields

Leave Root Page ID empty to index all pages the connection can access. Use the ID when the connection has broad access but the workspace needs one area.
13.5 Workspace and Team access
Notion sharing controls what Nous can read. Specific Teams controls who can search the indexed result. Manage Portal Team membership in Portal. A Team share cannot grant a user access to a page that Notion did not grant to the connection.
13.6 Test the connection
- Save the connector and wait for source sync and search indexing.
- Confirm that the selected root page or expected pages appear in the detail page.
- Search for a known page title and phrase.
- Test the result with a member in the intended Workspace or Team audience.
13.7 Common errors

| Page is missing | Share the page with the connection, then reconnect or refresh. |
| Root Page ID is rejected | Use the page ID, not the full browser URL, and confirm that the connection can open it. |
| Authorization does not return a refresh token | Ask the administrator to use the current Sophea connection and keep token expiration enabled for the managed app. |
| Search is empty | Check the Notion page share and the connector indexing state. |
13.8 Reconnect, rotate, and remove
Use Reconnect after changing the selected pages or when the grant expires. Sophea rotates the managed OAuth app. Before removal, check document sets, agents, and Team shares that use the connector.
